Houses and Lots, Community Lots: CASBAH GALLERY art centre lot – Picture Amoebae.
In the heart of the cool and creative Arts Quarter in San Myshuno, the Casbah Gallery is an art centre focused on modern green architecture, blending the sleek, minimal industrial with a wild eco-sensibility.
There are several discrete areas featuring different exhibits, as well as on the top floor a bar with a musical performance stage, and a fully-featured creator space for your Sims to brush up on their painting and woodworking skills. Outside sees the sometimes brutal concrete structure softened with skeletal wooden elements and luscious planting, evoking a sense of both hope and despair for a future of either innovative green architecture or dystopian re-wilding of long-abandoned civilisation. You are invited to contemplate this in the tranquil and stunning reflection pool that runs the length of the building.
Current Exhibitions:
In the east wing entrance hall is a selection of pieces from the gallery’s permanent collection, plus an area to buy a keepsake to remember your day
In the west wing ground floor space you will find “Lighting the Way: Illuminated Signs and Sculptures from Public Spaces Around the World”
In the east wing of the second level you can see a mixed collection drawn from the gallery’s permanent pieces, as well as a selection of paintings from up-and-coming local artist Violet Grubbs
In the west wing of the second level you are invited to learn about all things Bri’ish, with the themed exhibition “Home Grown: The Vehicles and Agriculture of Modern Britain”
In the east wing of the top level you can indulge your own creative urges, whatever your age or experience, with a fully-featured creator space including woodworking tables, activities for our younger patrons, and for lovers of plein air a set of easels to paint outside looking over the city below
In the west wing of the top storey you can wind down and enjoy stunning views of San Myshuno in the Sky High Bar, where you can hear the latest musical talent nightly (cloak room facilities provided for a small fee)
The Casbah Gallery uses only two pieces of custom content – a wooden floor and a custom pool water colour – and both are included in this download.
